People keep talking about how great a coder AI is as if bespoke apps everywhere is a business model.
Traditional software is getting killed in the stock market. The bet is that everyone will have their own apps and we don't need professionally built stuff.
That makes no sense. Certainly there are a lot of custom spreadsheets that can now be replaced with full apps. But if AI can't do more than code those apps that's going to disappoint investors.
AI is getting better at writing and research but not sure if that can be made to pay much. Making a breakthrough in medical research would be awesome but you can't get that by defunding that research to pay for data centers.
